About Me
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist that wears many hats - I’m a public speaker, a consultant, a researcher, a therapist, and a media contributor. As a health psychologist, my work is focused on the intersection between physical and mental health. A couple of years ago, I left traditional mental healthcare and research for digital health because I feel passionately about thinking differently about providing equitable, accessible mental healthcare.
As a psychologist, I have expertise in substance use concerns, trauma and PTSD, military and veteran care, anxiety, and stress. Additionally, my research and therapy work extends to health promotion, meaning addressing health behaviors like increasing physical activity, or coping with physical health issues like acute or chronic illnesses, injuries, or pain.
I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Memphis with a specialization in Health Psychology. I completed my APA-accredited internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the VA San Diego Healthcare System/University of California, San Diego. I’m licensed in California where I maintain a small private practice.
